ABOUT SHEILA

I graduated in 2014 with BDes(hons) 1st class in Jewellery and Metalwork Design from Duncan of Jordanstone, Dundee.

I now work from my studio at home in Birkhill, Angus, making work for private commissions and contemporary gift shops.

ABOUT THE WORK

My current work is about considering personal and vintage objects normally hidden from view such as a grandparent’s wedding ring, old photos or a broken string of pearls. Precious and treasured items connected to past memories, kept in a dressing table drawer or in trinket boxes are the inspiration for the design and development of my final work.

Wearable, contemporary jewellery pieces conveying an individual story are designed using sterling silver, silk, pearls and acrylic and appeal to those attracted to a vintage aesthetic and memories from the past. The pieces can be worn or displayed in the home instead of being tucked away.

Personalised jewellery pieces can be designed and made using inspiration from and inclusion of your own individual treasured objects.
