For those of you that are not from the Dundee area, I thought I would tell you about a couple of lovely places I have visited recently.
The House at Farnell is a gift shop and coffee shop both inside the Farnell old village school. It is situated off the A933 near Brechin. The owner Paula is Danish and fills the shop with crafts, accessories, trinkets and decorations mainly sourced from Denmark. If you love Christmas you’ll love visiting the House of Farnell as it has that lovely old fashioned Christmassy feel. She opens the house a few weeks before Christmas and also in the Spring time. The coffee shop is a delight where you can sample Danish pasties and other tasty treats.
Another nice place to visit is Peel Farm. There’s a great coffee shop, gift shop as well as some antique/shabby chic gifts. The farm shop is worth a look too especially if you like to treat yourself to some goodies to eat later on! There’s a wildlife trail and a huge duck pond just opposite. It’s at Lintrathen between Kirriemuir and Alyth and open 10 am to 5pm every day.
I hope you get the change to visit sometime and let me know what you think.
